We have a disciplined investment process and we have built safety into a strategy for growth. A strict and unemotional buy-and-sell discipline is at the heart of the process. The goal is powerful performance with safety built in.
First, we measure the overall market risk using our proprietary technical analysis. If the market direction is positive, we construct the portfolio with technically, fundamentally and quantitatively strong securities. If the market direction is negative and the risk of owning securities increases, we may go to cash in order to preserve gains.
We have an unemotional sell discipline with the investments in our portfolios. If the investment deteriorates either technically or fundamentally, we may sell the position. Our rigorous standards help us avoid the common pitfall of becoming emotionally attached to a position.
