The World is Ending and Stocks are Plunging (Again)

The major news magazines want you to know that “The Debt Crisis Is Even Worse than You Think” (last week’s cover of Business Week, printed in RED ink), or that Europe and the United States are now “Turning Japanese” in a “New Politics of Paralysis” (the cover of The Economist). Their implication, of course, is that this has never happened before. We are in “uncharted waters,” so your “wealth is at risk.”

The World Will Go On!

I have a fascination with fishing and have been known to check the fishing reports when I have a free moment. Most times the reports are about camp stories and fishing tales, and once in a blue moon they have a substantial amount of information that can help one become a better fisherman. All in all, they are entertaining to say the least. I enjoy the reports because they do help separate me from the constant investment-related literature I am consumed with.
